Joke of the day...A black baby was given wings by god. The baby asked "Does this mean I'm an angel?. God laughed and said naw u a bat. Happy Halloween.
I know on some level this is wrong, but I can't help at laugh at how many things are wrong with it.

Sticks and Stones...
I often forget how hurtful my words can be. I had a rude awakening tonight, the teacher told me that I am ruthless. Ruthless? ruthless? I don't think so. I guess if you are the sort of person that wears their heart on their sleeve, you could consider me to be ruthless, but I much prefer brutal. As in brutally honest. So if you are the sensitive, handle with kid gloves type, don't ask me no questions, and I promise not to hurt your feelings. In any case, the consensus seem to be 'approach with caution.'

I'm Filangaring Good Today...
Today was one of those days that you go through without a hitch. I woke up after a restful slumber, I got ready and left my house in good time. I arrived at school with several minutes to spare. I understood today's Spanish class without any trouble at all. I had a good workout, a good lunch, and was even able to have a nap before heading out again to my evening class. Despite the rain, my outlook was bright and I'm hopeful for more days like this. In retrospect, I now know why I'm filangaring so good today. I did get that job I wanted at DPS, and I was also able to register for classes at the University (after a much to do). According to my program evaluation, I need 34 units to graduate. I am currently about to complete 16 units at the college, I just enrolled for 6 at the university, so that's 23, which leaves a balance of 11 units. (9 core, 6 of which I can take next term), leaving me with 5 that I can complete in term D. That means I'll be graduating this year. To recap, today I....obtained employment, and learned I'll be graduating two years prior to my advisor's forecast. It's no wonder, I'm filangaring good today.

First full day of spring....but, it's still cold....
Day two of Spring break....aren't I supposed to be on a beach with thousands of other college folk getting drunk and flashing for the camera? I'm at home, finishing up on projects due next week, and for fun guess what I did? I souped up my myspace page... check it out http://www.myspace.com/queenjoyce I was able to load music onto it, and place a background of my current obsession on it, namely Skakira. I also noticed that I only had like 4 friends on there so I put out some requests and now I have a network of close to 25 people. I'm still yet to tackle that project for my accounting class, but the day is still young and I do have 5 more days. Hope you are all well.

And He said to me...
As my world came crashing down upon me, and I contemplated ending it all, the sunshine came upon my face, and a still small but sound voice came to me and said, 'why do you seek joy in others? You will find happiness in me. Where is the joy that I gave you? Where is the smile that I gave you? Where is the humble spirit that I gave you? Seek and you shall find. Find your joy in me. Seek me and I will open the floodgates of heaven. I will bless you immeasurably. I will make you the mother of many. I will see you through. Seek Me and I will add all this unto you, sayeth I, The Lord God almighty that made thee, formed and knew thee before you came into this world.'

Floetry at the Roxy
You know for someone who hasn't been to the Roxy before, it sure seems unusual that I'd be there twice within a short period of time. My sweetie invited me to come with to the 11 p.m. Floetry performance last night. Well, she didn't invite me last night, the performance was last night, tee-hee. If you have ever had the distinct pleasure of listening to Floetry, you already know what I'm about to say. In the very disturbing event that you haven't, I'll just say that you are missing out in a way that is not describable. If you are in the latter of the two groups, I urge you, no scratch that, I hereby command you to set out and purchase Floacism. On the album Floacism, lies one of my favorite cuts, say yes, and once you listen to that one, you too will say yes! If you are the type to sample before you buy, visit yahoo music and listen to some of the tunes, I'm sure you'll be hooked. There were a few things that delayed my arrival, but once I got there and saw my sweetie's smile on that pretty face, I couldn't help but think that all is right with the world. I still think so.

Excel Project
I love excel. Is it possible to love something that cannot love you back, I believe you can, and thats why I love excel. The spreadsheets we worked on this past week were very familiar to me. I did learn a few things, such as inserting graphs, which I had done before but like many things, i'd forgotten how to do. Using excel to calculate took me back to my statistics days, when i'd use the program to calculate standard deviation, to get an accurate mean and a whole bunch of other functions. It makes me wonder about how my son will learn to do mathematical concepts and how to problem solve.
Theory X vs. Theory Y
There are two kinds of people, inherently hard-working and self-motivated people, and then there are the lazy people. I heard a story this morning about a man named Steve Cobbs. Steve was deployed to Iraq and while there he suffered a brain injury. Prior to his injury Steve was a higly skilled worker. He was the only trainer Mercedes Benz would fly to their plant in Alabama every couple of weeks to train new employees. Despite his injury and its devastating effects, he works. He received training at the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Va. He applied for a job in the hospitality department following his training, but was unable to accept the position as he was in a rehabilitation center at that time. He saves the message from their HR department for future contact and a promise for a job. Adding insult to injury, Steve also suffers from PTSD, a condition that causes him to lash out at others including his wife. Theory X is a theory that states that a human being has an inherent dislike for work and will avoid it if he/she can. Theory Y states that people usually accept and often seek responsibility. Whichever theory applies to you, this morning I feel inspired by Steve Cobbs as he is a prime example of Theory Y and I think that you can be too.
